One curriculum for the whole primary-years arc
Instead of matching a single course to a single school year, Word Safari is planned as one ladder your child climbs over several years. It's honest about where that ladder starts and where it ends, which is what makes it useful for multi-year planning rather than a one-off purchase.
- Reception (Cambridge Early Years B) The start of the ladder, first letter sounds.
- Year 1 to Year 5 (Cambridge Primary Stages 1 to 5) The middle years, phonics and vocabulary building steadily.
- Year 6 (Cambridge Primary Stage 6) Tier 7 vocabulary, deliberately reaching slightly into Grade 6 words, not a full Grade 6 curriculum.
That last point matters for planning: Tier 7 is a deliberate reach into Grade 6-level vocabulary, not a claim that Word Safari covers everything a Grade 6 English class would. It's the honest ceiling of the ladder, not the whole of it.
Because the whole arc lives in one app, you're not re-evaluating a new product every year or two as your child moves from Reception into the primary years. One account, several children, each at their own level
Kid profiles are built for a real homeschool family, not a single child. Add a profile for each of your children, and each one is placed and levelled independently. A Year 1 sibling and a Year 5 sibling can share the same parent account without either one seeing content pitched at the wrong stage.
Each profile keeps its own placement, its own tier, and its own progress, so switching between children on the same device is simply a matter of picking the right profile. Nothing about one child's pace or level spills over into a sibling's.
German and Russian, as an optional extra subject
Once English is underway, German and Russian are available as an additional subject rather than a separate purchase: each comes with its own 150-word starter pack, and a child's level in that language is tracked separately from their English level, so adding a second language doesn't reset anything already earned.
That separation matters for planning a homeschool week: you can treat English as the core reading subject and layer in a language pack as a lighter, optional addition, without either one interfering with the other's pace.
