Word Safari is operated by Merrowby. These are the terms for using Word Safari, kept short and in plain language. By creating an account or letting your child play, a parent agrees to these terms on behalf of their family.

What Word Safari is

Word Safari is a phonics, spelling and story game for kids. The English track covers ages 4 to 11 and is aligned to the Cambridge early-years framework (Word Safari is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by Cambridge; "Cambridge" is a trademark of its respective owner). German and Russian are available as starter packs.

Accounts

An account must be created and held by a parent or guardian, not by a child. You're responsible for keeping your account safe, and for what happens under the child profiles you create. Word Safari signs you in with just your email: enter it and you're in, and we'll email you a link to sign in again on any other device. A password is optional, for parents who'd rather use one instead.

Free to play

Word Safari is currently free to play, with no ads and nothing to buy in the app. If that ever changes, we'll tell parents clearly before anything is charged.

Using Word Safari

Word Safari is meant for your own family's children. Please don't try to break, scrape, or misuse the game or its servers, or use it in a way that could harm other families.

Content and ownership

The game, and its art, words, stories and code, belong to Merrowby. You're welcome to let your kids play and enjoy it; please don't copy, resell, or redistribute it.

Availability and changes

Word Safari works offline once loaded, and we may update the app from time to time, including the words, stories, and features it offers. We can't promise the service will always be available without interruption.

Ending your account

You can stop using Word Safari, or ask us to delete your account, at any time by emailing hello@wordsafari.app.

If something's not right

Most concerns are a misunderstanding we can sort out directly. If something about these terms doesn't sit right, email us first at hello@wordsafari.app before anything else.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top. Continuing to use Word Safari after a change means you accept the update.
