What a 4-5 year old actually plays

The game modes on offer at this stage are the simplest of the app's 12: matching a sound to a letter, matching a picture to a word, listening and repeating. The more demanding spelling and sentence-level modes sit further up the ladder, waiting for later, so a first-time player is never handed a mode built for an older reader.
A placement that never assumes a starting point
Before your child plays a single round, a short placement finds where to begin. For a 4 or 5 year old, that usually means starting right at the first tier, and that is exactly right.
